Piano
THE Grand piano has the frame and strings placed horizontally. It therefore needs a large space as it is quite bulky. It is suitable for concert halls with high ceilings and good acoustics.
There are several models and sizes, between 1.8 and 3 m long and 620 kg.
THE upright piano has the frame and strings placed vertically. The frame can be made in metal or wood . Hammers do not benefit from strength of gravity .
The classes are individual (Online or In-person) and lasting 1 hour per week.
The content of the classes is complete and diversified, alternating between technique, theory and repertoire. THE student receives all necessary material for weekly study.
As they are personalized classes, the teacher can analyze and stimulate the student's innate talents and at the same time propose specific studies with to resolve personal difficulties.
Another type of piano can be considered: the automatic piano or pianola . It is a piano with a mechanical device that allows you to press the keys in a sequence marked on a roll.
Some contemporary composers, such as John Cage , Toni Frade and Hermeto Pascoal , innovated in the sound of the piano by placing objects inside the resonance box or by modifying the mechanism. A piano thus altered is called piano prepared.
The Portuguese Royal Family encouraged the use of the pianoforte in Brazil.
There is still the digital piano, which stores the sounds to be played in a memory. It differs from digital keyboards by simulating the feel of acoustic piano keys, and by also simulating an ordinary piano in its external structure. Despite its close resemblance to acoustic pianos in terms of sound and keys, it has advantages such as the ability to change the piano's volume and also allow the use of headphones.
